Principal's Message

There have been some really exciting things happening at Congress Park!  We had our Back to School Bash that was hosted by our PTO.  It was a chilly rainy night, but that didn’t stop the families from coming out and supporting the school.  Curriculum nights were a success and a great way for the parents to get to know the teachers.  Paired with the curriculum nights was the Scholastic Book Fair.  The PTO did a wonderful job setting it up and running it throughout the days and nights.  Parents got to know their child’s teacher and visit the book fair to keep our students reading.  Check out some pictures from our Kindergarten rooms!

There will be even more exciting things happening at Congress Park.  Stay tuned on our new Twitter account: @parkdolphins for updates and news.

If you ever have any questions, stop by the school office.  My door is always open.

Principal Robinette

Welcome to Congress Park!

My name is James Robinette and I am the new principal of Congress Park.  I am very excited to be part of the District 102 team and am looking forward to working with the students and parents of LaGrange and Brookfield.

This is going to be a very exciting year at Congress Park as I find my way around, build relationships with the students and staff, and get to know the community as much as possible.  I have already spoken with a few wonderful people of the community and it has only heightened my excitement to be part of such a special place.

A brief snapshot of my educational background is that I have been principal of Barbour Two-Way Language Immersion in Rockford for the last three years and before that I was the administrative/bilingual director at Rhodes School in River Grove.  I have presented on dual language at the state and national level and am currently working on my Superintendent’s endorsement and doctorate at Northern Illinois University.

Please feel free to reach out to me at any time, before or once school begins.  The best way to reach me would be through email at  If you send me an email, I will get back to you first chance I get.  You can also always stop by the office and try to get me that way.  My door is always open.

Have a great rest of the summer and I will see everybody on the first day back!

Mr. Robinette
